Information Security Associate

The Information Security Office partners with faculty, staff, and students to establish effective communication that promotes information security throughout the college community.  This partnership provides an opportunity to better understand the security risks associated with our information resources.  A key element of managing these security risks is to designate leaders that work with mission-critical processes to act as an Information Security Associate (ISA).

The ISA roles and responsibilities:

  • Assists with the implementation and compliance of all institutional policies, procedures, and guidelines related to information systems.
  • Collaborates with data owners in assessing departmental information security risk.
  • Provides reporting guidance for monitoring the effectiveness of information security strategies.
  • Reports procedural changes that affect information security controls.
  • Serves as a responder for reported computer security incidents.

If you are interested in participating in this partnership, please contact our office via email at infosec@southtexascollege.edu, or by telephone at 956-872-2335.
